The Japanese culture has many admirable qualities that I wish were more prevalent in America.

Japanese society encourages behavior that is beneficial to the group -- whereas in America, we focus on the rights of the individual. These two disparate value-systems are often mutually exclusive, but each end of the spectrum has it's pros and cons.

It would be nice to see a blend.
