Aşkım
It was exactly 6 years ago today that I first met Bambino (that's about a bizillion in gay years). Without getting too mushy about it, let me just say that I wouldn't trade the past 6 years for anything in the universe. From the way his laughter can part the darkest of clouds to the fact that I only thought I understood generosity before we met, finding him remains, without doubt, the best thing that's ever happened to me.He's a prince among men, my Bambino.Happy Anniversary, Aşkım!UPDATE: By request, a photo with us both. My favorite. From our trip to Kyrgyzstan:

Aww-- best anniversary post (and picture) ever!
February 26th has been my birthday for the past, well, let's just say my entire life. It's a drizzly, drab day most of the time, but sometimes I celebrate on my half-birthday so I can plan a party without worrying about the weather. I'm glad to know I'll be sharing it with you two, hopefully for a good long time. Congratulations.
What a lovely post, Ed. Happy Anniversary to you two!
xx congrat,,,dears.
Do we get to see you nude too?
lol
coming soon......
my partner and i met 11 years ago this month- happy anniversary to you, both! he just gave me julia child's book, my life in france to read for valentine's day- because she is one of my heroes!!! in any case, julia and paul child's tradition was to send out valentine's cards to their friends each year instead of christmas/holiday cards- one of them is on the cover of the book- the one that is not on the cover of the book- is the one they took in the bathtub one year- with soap bubbles concealing all their private parts- cheers...
Congratulations, you two. Molto amore! Molto felicita'. Now we need a picture of you TOGETHER.
P.S. Bambino, what do you call Ed?
Thanks everyone.
Joanne, I've added a photo of us both, just to prove we are NOT actually the same person.
What Bambino calls me? You'll have to ask him in person. They're not publishable in this family-friendly forum. ;-)
How do you pronounce "ş," by the way?
How do you pronounce "ş," by the way?
"sh" as in "Ash" ... pronounced "ash-kim"
It's Turkish for "love of mine."
I generally prefer my romantic talk in Italian or French, but the more I learn of Turkish (which is quite minimal mind you), the more I think it's one of the most romantic languages there is. Istanbul remains, hands down, the most romantic city I've ever visited.
Beautiful, Edward, congratulations to you and Bambino! Love the photo too --
Congrats to you Edward and Aşkım
I have an Albert Einstein quote a day widget on my igoogle page and the quote for today was:
to
No, this trick won't work...How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?
The daily quotes reveal Einstein to be deeply philosophical and heroically romantic, acknowledging that there is something more going in life which cannot be explained, or quantitatively analyzed
another quote of his befitting the nature of love
Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love
and as a lead up to one last Einstein quote a favorite saying I've heard explaining being in love comes to mind
"Love is a religion of one
with an imperfect god"
which A.E. might say
Before God we are equally wise--and equally foolish
Happy Anniversary, and many more to come.
If we're speaking Turkish then maşallah!
(I was going to say "çok güzel" but that's even harder to say than aşkım. [Chokhh geuzel]. BTW, Franklin, note the dotless "i" in aşkım. It's a really short i sound, kind of like a schwa).
Happy bazillion-year anniversary! The Kyrgyzstan photo is beautiful - thanks for posting it.
