Short Summer Break
My sister's coming to town to visit, so Bambino and I are busy planning playing tour guides, and blogging will be all but impossible this week unless some earth-shattering art news drags me back here...er...uh...yeah...I'll return next week. Here's hoping the weather's as great where you are as it is in NYC.

Have a great week, Mr. Winkleman.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....sure is quiet around here without Edward.
Edward, I'm shocked that you haven't come back to the blog to write 24/7 about the Jon Benet case like the rest of the media!
I mean, can't this society get enough of rich, white dead beauty-queen kids? You'd think there was a war going on or something :)
That's pretty cold, ondine. Granted, the media is giving a disproportionate amount of attention to this case. But c'mon. She was a little kid. She's not rich, she's dead. She was unlucky enough to be born to wacko parents. Does the fact that she was white make her life any less valuable? Hopefully you never have any kids. Too bad your parents did.
Your Conscience,
I didn't read anything in Ondine's comment that suggested he was attacking the girl in any way. Certainly not enough to warrant your counter attack on him. He was attacking our society's obsession with such stories...a valid critique in my opinion.
I have one overriding rule on this site and it's that people who comment here be civil to each other so that everyone feel welcome. Attacking public figures is one thing (I do it frequently myself), but personal attacks against guests here are not tolerated at all. Disagree with anyone you like here, but comments like your last sentence cross the line and are verboten.
Thanks for your cooperation.
You're right. Apologies to you and ondine.
Apology accepted.
And Edward, you got my intention perfectly. Of course I think it's horrible that this child died but it always bears pointing out that A) if this child were poor and black/hispanic there would be zero coverage and B)the media has jumped 24/7 on a story that may not even be accurate, holes are already surfacing in the whole mess and the press went off half-cocked like always.
