Name Change Notification

I am very pleased to announce that Plus Ultra Gallery will reopen at the start of the Fall 2007 2006 art season (with a great new exhibition by Jennifer Dalton) as "Winkleman / Plus Ultra Gallery." Reflecting a change in ownership, the new name also corresponds with a broadening of the scope of the program. Working with the gallery now are also artists Gulanara Kasmalieva & Muratbek Djumaliev, David Kinast, Carlos Motta, and Sarah Peters. Upcoming exhibitions this season also include new work by gallery artists Rosemarie Fiore, Christopher Johnson, and Andy Yoder and more.

Thanks everyone...(and thanks for the kind review of the website jec...I owe most of the decision there to a post Paddy did ages ago on what works and what doesn't on gallery websites).

And Good luck to you too Bambino (he's the new Gallery Manager for the space, so he needs it).

Congratulations Edward, and Bambino too. I didn't read Paddy's post, but it must have contained good advice. The website is great.

CONGRATS! I also like the site. Nice look. Good navigation.

One thing you might want want to consider is to remove special characters the "/" and "|" in your < title >, this can get in the way of google ranking - if you care. The latest suggestions are on: http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/google-ranking-factors.htm where it says:

Keyword in Title tag - close to beginning Title tag 10 - 60 characters, no special characters The Florida Update EVEN penalized for this, as part of the OOP. That was harsh, but effective.

Likely this isn't so valuable for your website but maybe for others...

Congratulations, and yes, it's a great, user-friendly website!

I am curious about why you dropped your submissions policy, and happy that you have not changed your submissions policy to "Don't!!!" as many galleries seem to be jumping on that bandwagon.

I'm taking time to rethink what our policy should be here. Essentially we're not getting back to folks in anywhere near a polite timeframe and I don't like the way that reflects on us, so until I figure out what our policy should be I've taken it down. It will return soon.

The gallery seems really appealing and exceptional, shame it doesn't answer the emails, it would look really professional.
All the best!

I'd prefer "Mr. Winkleman's
Plus Ultra Gallery".

Or simply Winkleman Gallery but...not sure about that slash configuration.

I guess you meant Fall 2006 but, who knows.

Good luck,

good catch Cedric...yes, indeed, I do mean 2006 (somehow the new season always seems like a new year).

That makes sense. Jeff Bailey and I think Freight and Volume have set an expectation that artists may or may not get a response, and that's no skin off my nose as an artist... I know how many unsolicited submissions gallerists get.
