Have a great weekend!...I have just stumbled onto your blog and am really excited about reading your archives. I have loved looking at all the art and think your idea of highlighting artists you like (Amanda Church for one) is an excellent dynamic idea for a blog about one gallery.
I have been immersed in your essay and questions about art made about art...and it's something I occasionally write about myself...
I think art has long left the public and people do not care about art and artists have become too "one trick pony" and making art that is ironic, or lacking in meaning, the meaning is short and shallow. Art about art is made to "keep it in the family" because it makes itself self important and to fit a sad concept of art needing to be or fit a mould of "hiistorically correct"
I am going to follow along here on your blog, I think you are really onto something.
Dropping ping pong balls down a flight of stars is still art, sure, but its art that sucks. It's art that makes the general public pull financial support for art programs in public schools...
well I ramble
Nice to "meet" you...I really appreciate your reaching out to the public with a blog. Good idea!
Cheers
