It's a Date!
OK, so on average I've been asked two dozen times per evening at openings and such, and although it's lovely to learn so many people want to know, it's been awful having to say, "I don't know, I don't know when we're opening...soon...soon!"
Well, "soon" is now official: Plus Ultra Gallery will open in our new ground floor location in Chelsea on March 2, 2006! As will our good friends and soon to be next-door-neighbors SchroederRomero. Mark your calendars and come help us celebrate our new spaces!

Never had to use our secret Bambino weapon, Mike...learned how to pit the various contractors against each other...much more effective.

This is off the topic, but since I didn't have your email, I thought I'd try you here.
I've been thinking a lot about your comments about sex and death being the big and best subjects for art. I'd love it if you developed a post on another aspect of it: beauty. I think you said somewhere that sex was a metaphor for life. Isn't beauty the larger category and the one most of art history has addressed? I ask this not to quibble, but because I'm confused and have been pushed to see works about sex (and death, too) in a new way after reading your thoughts. I would have dismissed Ryan McGinley (sp?), for example, as being super-shallow. Now, I'm not so sure at all. Beauty, like painting, is perennially declared dead. I wonder if beauty is simply old-timey sex, and maybe sex is modern, and, well, maybe it's just hot beauty?
Anyway, excuse me for posting this here, but when the brain starts to whirr, the fingers start to type!
